Who is the Midnightmuse?

I have worked in museums for over a decade, and for the National Park Service 8 years. I love history and art; I am partial American Indian and other aboriginal arts, but a good modern art show can still catch my fancy.

History is amazing, and our uderstanding of it is fluid, dynamic and in constant flux. If you don't think so, you probably had the wrong teachers.

I love architecture, and I could die happy wandering NYC looking at all the different styles represented there. I like old cemeteries, churches and monasteries.

I am a complete Bibliophile! I read pretty much anything (except romance novels, what a waste of a tree!) from history books, to serial sci fi novels, to literary classics and just about everything in between!

I like games, I play online games and RPGs. I played D&D back when there was still a basic and advanced and all you really needed was graph paper and a set of polyhedral dice. I like chess, even though I am not terribly good.

I like to go for leisurely walks and bike rides, and exploring botanical and sculpture gardens.

I love music and musicals. I love opera, especially German (though Puccini has always had a special place in my heart). I love going to chamber concerts. I think Cellos are one of the most beautiful instruments ever played.

I like old movies, I still cry at the end of Casablanca. Billy Wilder was brilliant, and Hitchcock a master. Everyone should see Metropolis once. Plays are fantastic too.

I am a fan of Sci Fi, do not even try to beat me at Trek trivia. I have the Klingon dictionary and I know how to use it. I think you have to see Star Wars IV first. Tom Baker will always be my first Doctor, but I am coming around on Matt Smith. Battlestar Galactica was an awesome, under rated series both times. Red Dwarf rocks.

I am not much of a drinker, but when I do, I like it to be something I can appreciate. Fine cognac, quality liquors and exquisite single malts. I also am a tish of a wine snob.

I love cooking and exploring food. I see it as an art form in its own right. I like taking classes to learn about new cuisines or techniques. I sincerely enjoy sharing my creations with others. Good food, good spirits, good company; who can ask for more?

Lastly, I am a mother of a fantastic and beautiful little girl who I love and who drives me completely crazy! In short, I am just an ordinary girl with an ordinary life.
